Parked due W, at field entrance. Walked along S side of field boundary, although it doesn't really matter as the Pillar sits between stock fencing; FB facing S. Original centre cap retained, deeply indented lettering; sight holes not checked. Extensive farmland views.

Very easy to find and clearly visible from the road - the telecoms mast is the marker for 10 - trig in a trough between two fields - good views towards Ellon and surrounding countryside.

On the way back to Newburgh on a long round hike that took in the Sands Of Forvie pillar early in the day. Left the road just past the mast and headed east between two oat fields, edging along the northernmost field. Pillar soon emerged between the fences.

Easy one, with about a 100 yards stroll up the field from the road to the west, to find the pillar nestling between two fences. Cap remains in place; one s/h open.
