Scrubby bit of land between 2 houses. No pillar, seems it went quite a while ago.

Parked outside gate to what looks like waste land. Courtesy knock at house next to land to get permission to nosey around & they had no problem with it. Trig definitely not there. Loads of broken concrete scattered about but nothing looking like it came from a pillar

Had a look around and got stung to bits by nettles - then was asked what i was doing be the custodian of the land - he explaned it was removed by the farmer about 20 years ago.

Noting PYoung1s comment, I called in at Broadview Farm (house). Been there all his life, knew nothing of a trig. His brother farms the land; his father before him. Said the land in question (between houses & farm) owned by builder, Fred Barrett of Little Chalfont. Gate into waste ground now has Private sign. I note the scrubby land immediately to the E has various derelict buildings. OS trig archive has a comment: MAY BE DEMOLISHED TOPO CHECK. Maintenance date given as 1973. The trig name suggests to me the site may not have been owned by the farm at the time the pillar was built. The OS comment suggests it was destroyed without OS knowledge. Contact with Mt Barrett (spelling?) as above, may shed more light?

Had a good look for this ,my GPS came to zero in a garden at the end of a Cul de Sac .There is no sign in the garden ,had a scout around the dumping site next door but to no avail.

This is the Garden ! No sign, but could be buried in wasteland next door.©Glaslyn

As previously mentioned, these co-ordinates take you to a small area of wasteland in a residential area. No sign of the trigpoint, although it is remotely possible that it was buried under all the junk littered around. It wasn't until later that we realised it would have been an idea to take a photo of the area.

It was dark so a further visit to check this small area of wasteland in the daylight may well prove fruitful. However, I'm not hopeful.

Couldn't find a pillar on this visit, but went back in April 1984 on the way to the Watford v Manchester United match (0-0, and almost as exciting at the TP). Found the pillar this time although completely enveloped in brambles which made retrieving the FB number tricky, but achieved. Photo of 'pillar'taken, which might make any future attempt to do better easier?
