When i drove up to this one, i thought it would be a challenge due to the length of the grass, however, after parking to the S in a sort of pull in, i walked down the road found the man hole cover and paced out as per peregrinus's log and Bingo! straight to it! located under some heavy duty bits of plastic, all looks to be in good condition.

I used the description in the log by periginus and found this one straightway - thanks i.e:- Locate telecoms mh cover in road, opposite electricity pole, measure 11.5m downhill along road, Berntsen is 4m back from road edge. I parked a few hundred meters away by the telephone exchange and made my way gingerly back up this busy road.

Paced out as per peregrinus' log, first prod of the ground revealed it. Dug away surrounding turf and left exposed. Nice wide grass verge, ideal for parking off the road.

Locate telecoms mh cover in road, opposite electricity pole, measure 11.5m downhill along road, Berntsen is 4m back from road edge. currently next to a tussock with bits of plastic next to it. Took a while despite shortish grass and previous pics and clues. nb Nr's photo seems to be from quite a way north of the location unless a lot of trees felled in meantime. DavidHolman pic v useful: mine from same location.

Found this one as I wound my way home from a day's geocaching. Parked up between this and the FBM about a 100m or so from both. Took a good few minutes of searching to uncover it but the previous log and a photo from a few years back helped. It's not buried as mentioned previously, just covered by some grass. Glad to find it in the failing light.

Success saecond time of asking. It was covered by dead grass, but essentially on the surface - so there is no need to dig. About 3.5m from road, and 2m from the highest part of the verge before it drops into the field.

The greenery is encroaching further onto the grassy edge so a winter visit is best. Forgot to look for marker in road.

Took a little time to find this one until I noticed that someone had helpfully drawn an indicator mark on the road!! Any idea why anyone? Traffice very fast on this road so decided not to look for the other Grampound mark today.

The berntsen is in grass on the side of a road. It is just possible to pull onto the verge but traffic can be busy, even on a Sunday!

I couldn't find the Berntsen, with the 7-10m GPS inaccuracy and the level of grass and overgrowth it would've taken more time than I was willing to spend to locate. The level of traffic hurtling past doesn't help either!

Area of Berntsen It's somewhere around here!
