Only 60 metres from my Sunday night sleep spot up the forest track, a busy track as I've found this morning trucks, cars, diggers, vans all in the last hour. Clear felled so easy and good views

Drive up

Parked by the road and walked up. Part of the track is now being used as a haul road for the new wind farm at Creag Riabhach near Vagastie Bridge so caution must be taken in high winds as traffic is hard to hear.

Drove right up the forest road to a spot opposite the pillar. Area is clear felled and gives commanding views all round. With Nozzer.

In felled forest. Gate was open so drove the track in from west to within 80m of the trig. Pillar has an asphalt centre plug replacing original cap; RHS sight hole open. Extensive views.

Pillar in fine shape with views improved through tree felling. Visited after climbing Ben Klibreck. Drove along forest road as far as Comms mast then walked last part. You could drive all the way to the trig but I felt a sense of proper arrival was deserved!

Gate was open so drove along the track to the pillar. Lots of clearfell in the area so views were a lot better than expected

A fair slog to get to trig due to over 13inches of snow all the up. As mentioned below not really much of a view to mention. Snow made the trip interesting though.

Visited on my way back from Ben Klibreck. Easy access along the forestry track. It is in a clearing, but there are almost no views apart from trees - just in one direction there is a distant view of hills. However, if you are looking for peace and tranqulity - there's plenty. After recent rain, the clearing was quite damp under foot, so I was pleased I had kept my boots on.
