Pulled over at corner of lane about 100 meters east of the pillar. Walked towards farm house expecting to have to ask but the hedge on the south had been recently cut and the pillar was clearly visible however not easily accessible. The FB is on the southern side. Option would be to climb over gate to get into field or try through the hedge. Getting into the hedge was awkward. Managed to get picture of FB by stretching down beside pillar. Special high number worth extra point. Chipped top on one corner. Good views to south. In full view from the house.

Found on a 5k circular walk from the Red Lion pub. Well hidden in hedge. Was about to see and touch it by not get a photo of the FB. May have had better luck going round the back via the field. Too many people and barking dogs around tho.

The sun was about to set as we reached the trig and it's hiding deep in the hedge and difficult to see.The farm is now very active and not deserted. The trig is in the west side of the hedge behind a wooden building/shed.

My second interesting encounter of the day - a deserted farm, except for a skip delivery lorry who was lost, and thanks to farm names on the OS 50k I put back on track. In absence of residents, entered field at ROW and simply walked down to trig, buried in hedge. Metal cap, raised letters, W s/hole open others not accessible, other than corner chip is in vgc.

Hiding in hedge, could only feel the FB. As it was pretty late did not want to start disturbing the local farm, by walking around to gateway, climbing gate etc etc

Hidden in hedge getting quite dark, havent yet mastered the flash on my camera.

The best access is indeed from the field side, and its not a problem getting to it, since the field actually has a public footpath going through it (although not past the trig pillar).

This is almost completely hidden from view as it now forms part of a hedgerow. It’s visible from the field side of the hedge but walking up the farm road you’ll only see it if you look very hard indeed. I missed it completely and ended up enquiring at the farmhouse. The farmer was very pleasant and showed me where it was. He also gave me permission to go into his field on the other side of the hedge. It’s complete but the pillar has a top corner knocked off and similar damage to one of the edges further down. It’s set at about 45 degrees to the cardinal compass points and the F/B is on the south-west face. The view south west is nice enough.
