Came off the A528 on to Lower Road (passing Webscott farm on our right) to park at the end of a (long) driveway, under a tree which was signed "The Nest". There was actually a footpath/trail post at the end of this drive which we took. It was a short but very impressive walk through a forest (the quarry was something new!). The actual let down (for me) was seeing the rather ugly radio mast in the field above the quarry which the trig was sitting infront of. Points for the walk, not the trig!

No problems with seeing why this spot was chosen - the ridge is very prominent. The Grinshill Sandstones are very impressive and have made a huge contribution to the local buildings and elsewhere - Chequers (PM's country res), St Chad's Cath in Birmingham and many, plus both bridges, in Shrewsbury have the pale top sandstones and the deep red ones from these outcrops and at Grinshill Quarries. A wonderful surprise walking up through the woods to the ridge top. Weather, unfortunately worsening as the afternoon wears on - over to Grinshill now.
