West at crossroads and rode slowly along looking into bushes on north side of road. Didn’t spot on first pass. No obvious high point, vegetation on roadside quite thick. Parked up and went through bushes to north side of hedge. Guessed at a point to the west of the pillar and walked back east. Reasonably straightforward. Some gardening to clear away weeds and overhanging branches. Spider and cap in place. View north across fields.

Parked in pull-in on southern side of road, easy access to field then a short walk to trig. Glorious May morning. Itchy.

Walked up from Barnetby le Wold via Melton Ross and then the long haul down the Burnham Road. Peaceful and quiet roads and surroundings, chalky fields. The pillar is situated on the N side of the road behind the hedgeline with the FB facing E. Field is accessible to get a better look. Trig in good condition with original plug and should remain so given its lonely location.

Not easy to find in the height of summer, and the field markings on the OS map don't tally with how they are on the ground. Fortunately, the trig point is in the hedge at the highest point on alongside the road.
