On my way to lunch in Biggar with understanding friends who stopped the car to let me photograph this!

Paced out location a few times, probed but nothing sufficiently convincing for me to start digging in roundabout by busy road . Not convinced it's gone though.

Visited here not expecting to find the trig so was not disappointed. Perhaps this should be re-classified to 'destroyed' in light of the road improvements?

Traffic island alterations have probably blatted this one. As per andyc's log, didn't want to start excavating past 9" into the ground....

A tad moist out there today....third visit here over the last five years or so. First two visits before the roadworks were carried out, it now looks extremely likely this block has been destroyed or is buried deep under the revised road junction layout.

Brought my tape and measured the exact spot for some digging. The spot is in earth and not concrete at least but I hit nothing within about nine inches of the surface. I suspect this is destroyed but you would need some more serious earth moving equipment than I had to be certain.

There is now a new streetlamp standard on the island. Much evidence of hole diggery - almost certainly electrics for the lamp. Roadworks in progress just down the Coulter road. Amongst the disturbed earth there was some plastic sacking, digging here is futile. Maybe the OS will unearth it one day.

Didnt spend too much time looking. Theres a great big line of new tarmac right where this one is on OS sketch - new drains/electrics ?

Somewhere beneath the Island of Lost Hubcaps is a block. Prodding was useless, there are loads of hard surfaces just under the surface. Will go back with a tape, or after a successful visit from one of the Edinburgh Stars. Noticed some holediggery in Jan05 - now I can see why.. Is this lost?
