Adjacent to Edinburgh dog and cat home, which has a training agility installation in the field opposite the trig location, which has been lost to sea wall damage.

Came down here to check the site of this ex-trig. I walked right past this point in June 2009 on a long distance trek heading down to England.

There are several non-OS survey points at ground level in the immediate vicinity, but nothing has replaced the rivet.

As per SlainteJimmy's report. The bevel I interpreted as instructions to cut the new block into a prettier shape! Anyway, no bolts/rivets have appeared. View is decent and the promenade/beach is worth a wander having some horrendous derelict "seaside amusements" to gawp at.

The corner of the seawall has been completely rebuilt in concrete and is marked 'BEVEL' with an arrow pointing to where the rivet was. I tried a bit of beachcombing to find the original block on the beach below but had no joy.
A rather appropriate pawprint.
Newly restored, minus rivet.

When I visited there appeared to be recent OS activity to replace this, There is a mark in some fresh concrete saying Bracket, I will post a picture soon.

Very sad, this one has definitely disappeared. All the concrete beyond the crack has gone, work being done immediately below it on the sea wall but difficult to tell if the work is being done because of the concrete falling off or if the work being done has caused it!

Hope this is the correct rivet, mind it was the only one I could see and the GPSr was almost spot on. Lovely views out to sea.

My companion was totally amazed that I look at such things. Sea wall cracked in two places, either side of rivet. GRP.

I can confirm that the slab of concrete containg the bolt is now very badly cracked. This one is on the way out.

Popped along from work at lunchtime for a look at this one. On the sea wall behind the Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home. The wall is actually quite badly cracked on the section containing the rivet. Sunny day with clear views over the Forth earns this one a couple of points, but I must say I don't really get the appeal of looking at rivets. Give me a good pillar on top of a nice hill any day!

Easy, no vegetation or soil on a sea wall, and the yellow paint. Good view of Inchkeith, and yes there is a dog's home here, got barked at on the way by.

A rivet hammered into a concrete sea wall! Oh, and don"t forget the splash of yellow paint beside it.
