(2836) Second time lucky for this one, well, kinda. The T:UK app takes you to Attewell Road. No wonder I had no joy the previous month! The location you want is #38 Park Hill. Fortunately someone was in when I called. Relatively new owners - they've lived at the property for the last two years - and was happy for me to visit. Curious about the pillar themselves, so I was able to pass on some information about it to them. Back garden location and half buried, so no chance to view the FB, but what can be seen is in fine condition. Still sporting its original centre cap - raised lettering. Pillar history: Built on the 19th of August 1948, at a cost of £8 10s 10d. Last maintained by the OS in March of 1974. FB is S4656

Second of 8 on a cycle ride W of Nottingham. No-one in so knocked at 39, as per previous logs, they said it would be ok with an understanding smile. It is in the corner of the colourful back garden, but strangely the trig is half buried with soil. Better still, it's topped with a stone/concrete? carving of an Easter Island figure. For sheer originality, I give it a 9. On to Sandiacre.

Knocked on the door and despite the owners being in Tenariffe fir Christmas, the next door neighbour said they'd be happy for us to visit. Garden now a lot more mature than on previous logs. Nice space. trig still used as a statue stand. no flushbracket visible above ground.

Rang the door bell at 38 and was told that I was the first person to call in 2016. Took the opportunity to tell the owners about Rob Woodall's last trig in Scotland a few weeks before. Very nice owners and access given easily.

Inadvertently and luckily knocked on No 39 – very friendly – said next door was on holiday but accompanied me into the garden of No 38. Certainly one of the more interesting locations – pity it can’t be seen in all its glory. Thanks to the neighbours for allowing the visit – and the owners in their absence. The pear tree sapling in CURRYSCRIM’s photo of Dec 2011 is now bearing fruit! Also ticked the Wetherspoons in Eastwood (sad).

I think I looked for this early on in my trigging without realising it was in a garden. Later when I started on the website, I found its location but didn't want to disturb the residents. With it now being one of the closest to home still outstanding, I've attempted to visit but not found anyone at home. This time the owner was at home with her daughter and lovely grandchild. I was immediately identified as triggy before I asked, and was very kindly allowed into her garden to make the visit.

Cars in the drive at No. 38 but no one at home. Tried numbers 37 and 39 again without success. Nipped into the garden for a quick photo and out again, not something I really like doing. The statue certainly makes a change, two of the more varied trigs visited today!

The poor folks here must be getting a bit fed up with visitors now! Anyway, they were very welcoming and I just made it before the game kicked off! Shame about the depth of the flush bracket below the soil level. Also the plug [raised letters] is unusual for this part of thr world.

I had a feeling this one should still be there as it is still appearing on recent maps and sure enough it is! It turns out to be at the bottom of the back garden of a house on Park Hill. Unfortunately it is not visible from the road. Lots of houses back onto each other just here and I wandered around up and down the path near the sports field and then up and down Park Hall with my GPS pointing all the time into he gardens. I thought I would chance my arm by knocking on one door expecting to be told the same as Tom but was instead told that yes, there is a trig at the bottom of the garden! A cherub sits on top of it and the plug is in tact though unfortunately the flush bracket is buried. It is probably either on the south or east sides. I didn’t feel I could ask to go digging! I have a pic but have had second thoughts about it being posted without the owners permission etc.
