OS lists 4 trigs for this stn number: Spire, Centre, Flagstaff & Bolt. The church of St John was dedicated in 1860, William Gladstone gave the lectern. The lych gate was added as a memorial to parishioners killed in the First World War. Note the deeply chiselled cut benchmark on a buttress at the SW corner.
