We didn't choose the best day or time for a visit to a viewpoint like this: it was very misty and getting dark. As a result we can't improve on the photos already in the album, so here's James' method of bagging TPs.

An excellent isolated, little hill with easy but steep access and parking just off the A34. The earthworks are interesting and views good. On a circular walk from Burghclere with the old man. Weather clear, blue skies with ominous clouds beginning to move in.

Beacon Hill dominates the countryside - particularly the approach from the South via the A34. Gentle carvings in the slopes show the presence of an old hillfort, and interestingly, the grave of Lord Carnarvon - of King Tut fame.
