busy road so went to rear of school to take picture of where vane might have been.

Kingsdown School occupies a plot at corner of Ermin Street and Kingsdown Road (B4141) in Swindon's Stratton St Margaret district. Built in 1937 it now has academy status. There is a flag pole on the highest part of the building (clearly visible in previous loggers photo), but I could see no vane. The school has been greatly expanded from it's start when it had only 5 classrooms. OS database doesn't record the vane as being destroyed but suspect it is. Bolt, listed in the database, is probably still there if highest part of building is original.
