I was determined to have another go at this one. The shallow depression with the ring of stones is the location, so armed with stabber and small spade, began a determine effort to find the rascal. The weather was glorious and the views magnificent. At one side of the stones, there was one with white paint on it. Always a good sign. The spade uncovered a bit of cement. Another good sign. Eventually, there it was. About 30cm down. 1” bolt with dimple.

Parked in the spaces where cars queue for ferry. Up to the high point from the toilets. There is a hollow in the ground where Bolt should be. No sign of one so will maybe need gardening equipment to find it, or it could have just gone

Parked near the pier at Kilchoan and using my trusty Memory Map, quickly identified a rocky outcrop on the west side of the road. The fence was easily crossed beside the toilets and a short walk landed me on top. The GPS was definite that the bolt was here but the small summit was covered in what looked like a collapsed cairn covered in grass. Despite moving a few of the stones, there was no sign of the bolt. Gave up.
