Complete with reinforcements and implements we all searched for some time in a hefty wind with no joy. ;-(

Roadside parking due W at a good pull-in for 3 cars (NG 5631 4402). Spent 35 mins here, initially dismantling the cairn and excavating to bed rock beneath, then moving across to what appeared to be the hight point a couple of metres to the S to clear some turf from bed rock. Disappointingly nothing was found. The OS Sketch merely says 'Bolt located at highest point, marked by a large stone cairn'. An old pivot benchmark was located on rocks close by, by way of compensation.

GPS indicated a few metres N of cairn, a few rocks, needs better tools than my trowel, assuming it's under the rocks.
