Small hard standing (plenty room to park) E side A82 at NG 4770 3672, by gate/track. Track overgrown but easier than walking on the moor which is very spongy and wet - extremely hard going.

From the Slig road at Varigill. Managed to find a route through forestry which has now (21/02/21) begun to be felled. Once on moor, fairly rough ground to hilltop which seemed way further than it looked on the map. Another brilliant viewpoint

Overall approach from northwest. Parked in layby, west side of A87 at NG476366. Walked north down A87 until over road bridge and clear of woods, over fence and headed eastwards keeping north of the deep gully. What looked easy from the road turned out to be thigh deep thick tussocks incorporating random water holes most of the way to the top. Allow time for this. At around NG485366 it is possible to cross the burn, turn to a southeast course and take a beeline route from where the triiged top soon comes into sight. Open hilltop is rough grass which would benefit from grazing. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces east, compass measurement 88°. Three sight holes open, north (right) face still plugged, pillar bolt viewable. Full 360° open outlook to surrounding hills and Raasay.

fine evening.north of Ben Lee.but with nightmare ground eventually trying to get back west along the eastern edge of forest strip. Very tough underfoot and forest rides that didn't exist until eventually found one about six hundred metres before the southern end.

Decided to try an ascent from Ollach, Mr TJR spotted a track for some of the way but sadly this disappeared, then the bog and heather appeared and the hidden holes! Took an age to get to the trig, via 2 deer fences which nearly finished Mrs TJR off. The way back was no better and we both ended up visiting a few of the hidden holes with their handy pools of dark liquid. Only 1 fence on the way back as the second one had a style. A joke style - worse one I've ever seen, wobbly and slippy and some strategically placed nails to snag any lose clothing. This might be the number 1 worse trig ever but it's close to Beinn Geary, not much in it apart from this was was 2km up and Geary was 1km....

vgc, metal cap, deep letters. OK peaty heathery summit, grey view. From 470337, same parking as for Meall An Fhuarain, followed pylons ride then long heathery trudge. (Visited the nearby Marilyn 13/6/2000 - memorably the day before Yiannis Tridimas' Cuillin Round.

Boggy and rough terrain, but a rewarding view northwards along the Sound of Raasay to Ben Tianavaig, Bealach Cumhaing and the Storr.

Spider intact, not surprisingly given the surrounding sea of boggy moorland. Came down to it from Ben Lee.
