SW side of road as confirmed by benchmark description (but no dimensions); GPS generally indicated 2m back, possibly lost to ditch works. Soft verge probed to 30cm but no luck. Also checked gap in hedge, ad GPS suggested up to 5m back on occasion

Very soft verge. Dug up a few slabs of concrete and stones, in between the brambles. But no block.
