Gated off at top of first stairs, lacked the motivation to explore further as seems only witness rivet present. Interesting site

One of the Palmerston forts built to resist a French landing in late 19thC. Sold off to the council in 1965 whose lessors made some significant changes before a preservation order was slapped on it to prevent any more damage! Today it's a hotch-potch of small industrial units. An OS-type rivet was found atop one of the casemates. Access straight forward. This may possibly be a witness rivet to the bolt, but no bolt found despite thorough search of the flat concrete roof of the casemate. So the rivet will have to suffice as the trig until further evidence is found. ***25 Aug 2022 update. There are 3 other Witness Rivets, Bolt would seem to be missing... unless I somehow overlooked it. Would seem to be Witness Rivet 2 I found.See OS Sketch below.
