Cycled to this church (can't afford to drive to go trig station hunting due to petrol prices being the highest they have ever been in history). Bolt not accessible. There are two cut benchmarks on the west elevation of the tower. The right benchmark is at knee height, the left benchmark is at stomach / chest height. The left benchmark doesn't look 'official'.

St Swithin's (as spelled on the British Listed Buildings website), Parish Church of Welford with Wickham, part of the West Downland Benefice in Diocese of Oxford - this is a fully functioning church; Grade II* listed; 10thC Saxon tower, where the bolt is presumably located on the roof. Cut benchmark on tower.

Unsure as to whether this is now in fact a private dwelling - no church sign on the roadside and security warning signs on the fence. So I photographed the church from the roadside and will investigate further...
