Via the signposted path to the broch from the east. The brock is fantastic: built in an older large hillfort with ramparts and roundhouses. A couple more Iron age enclosed settlements to see on the way up to the trig, which is itself in another large Iron Age hillfort. Amazing late prehistoric landscape, and the views aren't half bad either.

Parked at Millburn Bridge to the south. The original plan was to take the easy track up from Cockburn Farm, but cattle with calves in that field stopped us, So we went along the other track to the derelict steading at Cockburn East. Edins Hall Broch is fascinating and from thee its an easy walk up to the pillar. The plantation has been decimated by the storms last winter so dont try to walk through it but stay to the right of it & pick a quad bike track up which will take you through the bracken & up onto the shoulder of the hill. Magnificent views from the trig. One memorial cross still zip tied to the hooks.

My second visit, different route up the track from Cockburn. Its a very pleasant and easy route, track all the way until the last 200m. Although this route misses the joys of the bouncy bridge at Elba and the wonder of Erin's Hall Broch it does present a much more obvious view of the rings of the hill fort around the summit. The panorama from the summit is spectacular, one of the best hills in the Borders IMHO...

Surely one of the best TPs in the Borders! Parked in the layby on the minor road off the A6112 and followed the Otter Burn to the bouncy bridge over the Whiteadder at Elba, then up to Edin's Hall Broch (fascinating) and on to the TP and hill top fort. Fantastic 360 panorama, views SE stretch down the coast as far as Bamburgh. History, great views, a really decent walk AND a bouncy bridge - Cockburn Law has got everything a Trig Bagger could possibly want!
