Log #431. From east, parking before substation at Ardochrig. Relatively direct route following windfarm roads, pillar easily found. The fresh plantation didn't offer much cover from the wind, and it was surprisingly cold. Pretty boring following the roads, so took a different route back. Would recommend biking this one, not very interesting. Pillar offers wide views of central Scotland though, and would be cracking on a clear day. Pillar is in good condition with cap missing. Approached the trig towards a nice sunset, and views just amazing to Goatfell, Tinto, Campsies, Ben Lomond etc....as the sun set, nice night views of Glasgow and East Kilbride. Very peaceful spot.
