Unknown if this is the same Bolt as the Tide Gauge Bolt, but seems unlikely given that that one is below floor level inside the Tide Gauge Hut. Perhaps it's on the roof (sloping!) of the TG Hut, or on the sea wall behind the hut, or on the walk-way of the pier. A scan of the OS Office File held in the National Archives at Kew may give an indication.

Is or was perhaps on tide gauge hut roof, gently sloping concrete (stated GR is for tide gauge BM and to 10m only), I scrambled up to get a view of roof which is small, possibly resurfaced, a few lumps but no bolt seen. Was here in 2005 too for flush bracket 1565. OS article indicates the bolt BM was in the building, although diagram in same article shows it on the pier outside the building https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/newsroom/blog/ordnance-datum-newlyn-100-years-old-today Painterman says he remembers seeing the recording device and the plate cover on the floor, through an open window. Seems unlikely (impossible) that an indoor bolt would be used as a Passive trig. I'm inclined to think it was on the roof (or harbour wall), long destroyed with the OS having no record of its coordinates. Happy to be proved wrong.

I walked to the end of the jetty, there is no public access to the hut, therefore, Inaccessible, well for today anyway

15/09/2013 gates were not locked so walked through to bag this. 31/10/2021 after seeing countryfile realised that we had been to the building only. it is inside the building under a cover with osbm on it. I would imagine needs special access to actually bag it. I have taken stills from the iplayer to show the Bolt.
