Parked just off the main road on the single track road which leads to Corrylorn Farm. A short walk up the road to where three cottages are. At the last cottage (called Eleraig) I made my way up the hill. Tried to keep to the break in the trees but went slightly off into the forestry. Tussocky, marshy hillside and underwhelming views once the trig is reached.

Nice walk down past the houses. Took a line up the trees to find this one. Steep hillside. But nice little trig. Not much in the way of views.

Parked opposite house on access track NM 858172. Into wood at NM 861171 to find good breaks leading to trig. Very pleasant.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 29th June 1958 costing £61.2s.5d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NM52/T44 in 1960. Levelled for height also in 1960. Last maintained by the OS in July 1981. SITE VISIT: Opted for a more challenging approach to this one from road bridge at NM854165. Choice of lots of tree bashing, or via a maze of water logged firebreaks. Pillar in fair condition, large horizontal crack. Spider centre plugged with tar. Flush bracket faces 32°NE. Vented through E sight hole. Panorama limited by trees but open outlooks to western and northern horizons plus SE quarter.

Shallow horizontal crack just below half height, could be construction joint. Asphalt plug. Grassy summit: wide strip above crags, clear of trees, gives simple access from track at NM865170. Fine view.
