The track marked on the OS map to the south of the school is not really there anymore so we headed through the fields. In the 3rd one, nearest the trig, we found a sheep with its head stuck really well in the fence. There was no way we could release it so alerted someone who knew the farmer. Good deed done for the day!

Took 2 friends who live within 1.5 miles of this TP. Interesting discussion about mutual friend friends who live just next to where the first baseline in Scotland was measured by Thomas Frederick Colby. This was news to me!. Approached from near the school but as track overgrown and a barbed wire needed negotiated it maybe easier coming up the track for the wind turbine. The pillar is in good condition with spider intact.

Parked at NJ 72230 24520. Mapped footpath unrecognisable, which meant climbing gates and fences, some barbed wire fences too. All the field boundaries on the 1:25k are there and need to be negotiated. Crossed final most awkward fence at NJ 72795 24657. Didn't visit Satan's well although the name intrigued me.

Trig pillar in good condition. Being sheltered from the worst of the weather by weeds, it still has a reasonable coat of paint. Spider retains OS plug with stamped lettering. Flush bracket faces south. Mapped footpath overgrown, easier to walk along field edges and climb fences. Considerable weed removal was required for photographic purposes.
