Second trig of a seven trig 'bag' East to West from Dundraw...Roadside parking across the road from the 'trig-field' gate at GR 200 456. Crossing the road & climbing the gate, the trig engrossed by the hedge can be located to the right of the fouth post from the gate.

Bit of a wet day in the Lakes so decided to knock off a few of the Trigs close to the Cumbrian Coast. This looked like a nice roadside bag to kick off so parked up by the gate and simply nipped into the field. Pillar is set back in the gorse behind a barbed wire fence so wasn't too easy to get to. Fortunately I'd read previous posts so had the necessary secateurs to cut back the various nasty prickly flora to gain access to the FB. Clearance complete, photos taken, onto the next trig......

Travelling along the road East to West towards High Scales, it is on the north side of the road, through one of the gates and to the right. It is behind a barbed wire fence and surrounded by and overgrown hedge, but it is still in one piece. Watch out for thistle and nettles. From one angle you can get views across to Scotland.

Through gate on North side 5m into field on boundary between two barbies on a plinth so it looks tall and grand. Open plug on top.

A hedgerow trig, short distance from the road. The thorn is trying to consume the pillar but the bagger fights back! One top corner has been chipped away. Top cap missing, no plug; LHS sight hole open. Views to Solway Firth and D&G coastline.

Not quite the roadside trig that the Landranger would have you believe but easy enough to find this time of year. Looks like a little recent damage to the top of the pillar above the flush plate, probably caused by hedge cutting.
