1/4 from Brechfa Forest Keeper Car Park. Walk up along well marked forestry track. Issues when entering the plantation next the the trig. Very overgrown, wet and boggy. Take spare clothes and a towel! Trig sat in a clearing surrounded by heather, bilberry and bog. Trig is in good condition with spider and plug and FB intact.

Parked at entrance to Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm and walked up track to the forest. A right hack through the very overgrown fire break and even when reached glade with tumuli still took a couple of minutes to find as well hidden by a couple of trees. Tried a shortcut directly through the trees to get back to the track; it was quicker but left me covered in pine needles and a few scratches - stick to the fire break.

Parked as others opposite a farmers storage area and next to a turbine, plenty of room to park. Followed ROW until reaching forestry then went left around forestry 4 gates to the corner of the field RHS over two fences next to each other (1 metal 1 wood) then follow track up to first left through forest and around 30m up there is an over-gown fire break. Follow this for around 100m and trig is just beyond highest point behind the two large conifer trees. All good, a little mossy. Looked at aerial pics first, all needed really, but did have my trusty landranger but didn't need it this time!

Parked on the track at SN46686 33286 (using OS App) right next to farm and wind turbine. (The mark 7/10 includes the interest from being so close to a working wind farm.) Straightforward as far as the forest. No obvious path in the forest, but after a trudge through bog and challenging terrain were rewarded with our second primary of the day. We are indebted to the OS App; not sure we would have found this one using paper map alone.

Parked at the end of the public road W of the pillar. Followed the right of way until the firebreak SW of trig. This is fairly easy going until the track is met, after that it's virtually non-existent. However, the tree branches are sufficiently desiccated that they just snap as you make your way through.

Weather started chilly and overcast, but soon opened up into a warm, bright day.

Parked at SN509316 on v minor road from Brechfa. Easy walk on forest logging roads and tracks to SN478336. At this point, a forest ride can just be made out, and this leads to the TP in about 200m (slower going, and watch out for boggy sections, but nothing too bad). It's easier to spot the ride if walking the track in a SW direction.

Follow path to woodland then SE along wood edge to reach firebreak at SN476006 33206 then when you reach forest road go approx 200m NE to SN47800 33612 where another firebreak leads straight to the pillar. I parked up at 51°59.519'N, 4°13.604'W and walked up first the narrow track and then the forestry roads, tracking in towards the trig. At 51°58.807'N, 4°13.062'W I spotted a long thin clearing (a fire break) that ran directly towards the trig point. The undergrowth was thick and at times a little boggy but I've put up with far worse than this - and I did this in my work shoes rather than my walking boots and never felt water on my feet... It's obvious this trig point is rarely visited (I needed to kick off the moss to read the flush bracket) - but if someone wants a good invigorating walk with a slightly more challenging last 200m - this one is a good one to do.
