Revisited in passing. Location is edge of residents parking area. Lady I spoke to said she thought she remembered a pillar. Vaguely wondered if it lies buried under the roadside strip belonging to #4. Unlikely I guess. Pity no-one realised this was most southerly GB mainland pillar and transplanted eg to The Green.

GPS indicares it would have been on the parking area outside #2 or #3 Per Kithen. Pity it wasn't relocated. That's the NT for you - vandals. Spoke with one of the residents - estimates houses were built early 2000's. 1982 map shows the trig on a field boundary.

Stayed over night in Lizard while walking South West Coast path. Searched new housing estate to no avail. 7/10 for nice place & Pub.

My 1:25000 map puts the trig point right alongside the A3083 and nowhere near any housing site. However, I could not find it but there is a huge bramble bush tangle just into the field and that could hide anything.

This was more of a drive by than a full search as it has gone.There are a few lumps of what look like builders rubble (grassed over)in the area of the estate that it might be under!I just felt as I was in the area I would stick my head around the door so to speak.

My GPSr took me to within 25 m of the site, and it is clear that the pillar has been removed to make way for housing.

Definitely missing now as there are houses where it should be (more than on Iainmacs photo) and no sign of it lying around. I even checked in some of the nearby gardens to see if it had been adopted as an up-market bird table. It's a shame this one has gone as it was the most southerly pillar in Britain.

Traced from map coordinates to a spot where a new house now stands.Trig had been lifted complete with concrete base and had been placed on waste land awaiting disposal. Builder confirmed OS people coming to take plate. Private
