From Cullivoe on the Compass Rose, last of 7 islands visited. Landed at pier on N side of the island; short walk to summit. 1" dia bolt sits exposed on a flat rock near the island's summit. NB. Post visit note. OS Sketch details 4 Witness Rivets.

Bolt in small outcrop by cairn. Easy find. Landed at pier. Day charter out of Mid Yell, group of us island bagging. Next to Balta in challenging sea conditions...

Trip out from Uyeasound with Brian Edmondson (who also took me to Balta (TP1000) earlier), arranged through Edmund Nicolson of Muckle Flugga Charters. The weather was calm but rainy and the launch of the metal boat off the slipway was a little tricky and slippy! We landed on the pier on Uyea and I walked up the track towards the Hall before turning off to reach the high point of the island. The bolt sits in a rock at the NW side of a collection of stones. Good views at short range to Uyeasound and the NE side of Yell but much else was marred by the low cloud and drizzly rain. This is the closest trig point to being exactly 1000km from my home - 1,000,222m to be exact!
