Didn't read the logs in advance until I was right there and a seriously imprisoned trig pillar as others had said. Time for TPLM of the TPLF to swoop in.. so trig pillar liberator man donned his cloak and his t-shirt and swooped in... I was there with all the equipment so I spent 20 minutes attacking it with secateurs and my folding saw and had I needed it I even had a mini hacksaw so that little tiny bit of fencing that was a squashed into the Ground near the flush bracket could have been hacked a little bit but fortunately I didn't need to I could eventually once I had got rid of lots of bramble and more Hawthorn....the flush bracket was accessible enough for me to pull back the bit of wire fencing and getting there with my spray oil and my air dry clay.

Parked at the end of the track at the Luddon Training Center which was shut as its Sunday. The trig is buried in the hedge. Next visitor would be advised to take something with them to cut back the brambles and hedge, unless they just want to jump off the fence / gate into them and stomp them down which Mrs A1M thinks is 'dedication'.

Third visit. For GPS reading and photographs. SITE VISIT: Approached from west. Parked in turning circle outside industrial premises at NS582711 on west side of A879. Direct route up track opposite leads to gate beside trig. Now a complete shambles. Works of some sorts going on up here, possibly to do with the pylons. A wooden fence has appeared in front of the pillar and a metal gate is fixed opened in front of that. The gate cannot be moved because the adjacent track has been surfaced higher with loose rubble. To add to that the pillar was completely lost in the hedge but that got a haircut so that I could get inside the wooden fence and salvage what photography I could. Pillar in fair condition with chip out of NE apex. Spider plugged with smooth resin. Flush bracket faces ENE, ~77°. Vented through westmost sight hole. Views limited to north and northeast with open outlook to south.

Hole plugged and spider intact. North east corner has been knocked off, otherwise, in good condition. Good views all around especially to the Campsies. I parked at the farm building on the left as you turn off the A829 and went up the field edge to the pillar. Very straightforward. Saw a few scampering deer on the way. Very nice!
