Parked in the gate near the junction with Healy Lane. Walked through the gate and the trig is visible instantly. Nice views of the surrounding countryside on clear day. Relatively unremarkable.

We walked up from the PROW at the far side of Ministeracres and then along the road. Easy to access the trig from the road side and as others have mentioned Barley Hill remains a field of Barley!

Third visit, prompted because I'd noticed a large stretch of the plantation N of the pillar has been harvested, opening up the views North to North East previously blocked. And what fantastic views they are - all the way across Northumberland to Simonside. Just hoping the rest of that plantation comes down now to reveal even more of the splendours of the finest county in England ~~ 16/07/20 My second visit, delighted to discover that this year Barley Hill TP is in a field of barley!

With my travelling companion sleeping off the effects of the LDWA Hadrian 100, I took the opportunity stretch my tired legs and visit a few of the easier pillars to the S of Hexham. Like this one, just inside field next to road.

Took the opportunity of a requirement to drive to the other end of Northumberland to collect a few 'drive-by' trigs en-route to County Durham. Mickley + Dilston + Winnowshill Common + Barley Hill = less than a couple of hundred metres of walking in total. As easy to reach as any TP I've logged to date. Potentially decent views north obscured by row of trees, good views west / south west though towards the County Border with Cumbria.

Not seen from road...tucked behind a wall on the edge of an open field. Views toward Derwent Valley and moors around Blanchland. Lovely watery winter sun. Plug with indented lettering.

Found this one on the way back from a walk over the fells above Edmundbyers. A bit boring, just behind the wall in a field of barley, you can park about 20 metres away.
