Took scenic route from Clent to S Birmingham and just after crossing M5, called in for visit walking in through pleasant suburbs towards location and coming upon substantial metal railings around allotments. It soon became apparent that the pillar must be on the "wrong" side of the fence and as we pondered on this ,a friendly chap tending his allotment asked us if we were looking for the pillar, pointed to its location and was willing to let us into the securely locked allotments and guide us to the location tucked in right next to a now substantial oak tree. A fine fellow, thankyou.

Parked on Wychbury Road. The pillar is now within some allotments. The caretaker was just in the process of locking up when I got there, and he kindly gave me permission to enter and take some photographs of the pillar. Caretaker told me he was 75 years old, and he remembers sitting on the pillar when he was about 10, which would be 65 years ago - the mid 1950's! 9 of 10 today in and around Hagley, Worcestershire

Interesting one this. First I thought I wouldn't be able to get access to it as it is behind a fence in an allotment. But asked a bloke walking a dog about it and he said that he had an allotment in it and they were doing work to add 2 plots for disabled people and a toilet block. And he added there were 4 plots left, if i wanted one. As the builders had left the gates oven I was able to get to the trig.

located a few inches from the big fence around the allotments, touching distance so therefore logged as good. views of allotments, houses and new house being built. no sign of any "farm".

Took photo through fence from path of F.B which is very lucky that it's face towards the fence. Managed to touch the trig through the fence with a very short stick . Hope this counts.

Behind bars and quite rightly in this area. Bartley Green is definitely dodgy. Didn't check the gate to the allotments so took photo through the fence bars.

Plug intact, FB facing outwards, large plinth. Gate locked and allotments empty but pillar was just within reach through the fence.

One of the best town pillars i have seen,in an allotment area but visible and touchable through the Railings.In V good condition easily acessible.

On the way back from the football, a tour of the SW Brum trigs... This one was easy, could have been lost to housing or in a garden. It was beside a path behind some houses. Tabby cat on top. Getting late now, so off home.
