Parking opposite Common Lane, took a left onto Long Lane, a left at the Long Lane Barrowclough Lane junction & a final left uphill to follow the wall. The wall could so easily be scaled if trespass is your thing & despite reports of dogs, the trig is within a small enclosure guarded by a gate should 'Who let the dogs out' be played giving one time to scarper. But most 'trigbaggers' don't go for that sort of thing do they?...Wouldn't it be nice & all well with the world if those trigpoints giving us 'trig baggers' restless nights prior to a days 'trigbagging' were highlighted in someway by their owners as being accessible...Silly I know! Parking is possible at the Long Lane Barrowclough Lane junction but the approach via Long Lane is pretty rough for a car!

Walked round to the drive of the house with intention of asking permission to access but heard a dog barking so decided not to continue. A little walk back, a jump over the wall and quick few photos taken! Good views of Halifax and of course the Beacon itself.

Which sports an impressively high and sturdy looking dry stone wall. Luckily someone was about, and permission was freely given to visit the pillar. Guard dog safely kept behind a closed door! The pillar sits within a small fenced off compound at the rear of the house. All in good condition and still sporting its original centre plug. Good views at this location encompassing the whole of Halifax below. Pillar history: Built on the 24th of September 1947, at a cost of £6 5s 1d. Last maintained by the OS in June of 1986.
