Up from Sligachan via Fionn Choire. A 6hr round trip without rushing. Heavy overnight rain made crossing the streams tricky, and once we reached the ridge, gusty winds made progress difficult. Fortunately the cloud lifted enough to show the Cuillin group in all its craggy splendour.

So much respect has to be given to the Ordnance Survey men who both located the site, then carried all the equipment require to built and survey from here. First Cullin, first Munro, blown away with the views that truthfully didn't spend as much time examining the trig as at others. Very fortunate to visit when visibility was so good.

My Munro #17. Having climbed Ben Alligin the previous autumn I couldn't wait to get back up to Scotland and continue bagging Munros. I thought 3 days on Skye and I'd be able to bag most, if not all, of the Cuillen Ridge. On my own. Idiot. I had NO IDEA what the mountains on Skye entailed. Besides, the weather was dreadful for all three days so on the day two I settled for doing just the 'Tourist' Cuillin Munro. 'Tourist route' or not, in quite appalling conditions I felt out of my depth, and day three of this trip saw me back on the mainland bagging a much more simple Munro.
