Good views from the trig across to the Dales.

Leave the returned to busy roads to the West of Bowland and into the splendid near empty edges of the county boundary. Full of memories - from the cold cloud covered traipse up White Hill, the stormy wanderings on Hutton Roof, earliest walks on the Yorkshire peaks and the three county ramble to Gragareth and Great Coum - ending in snow. Today after the wonderful Great Stone it's on the currently dry boundary quad track then back into the moor itself. Curlew and grouse kept away from but still very vocal.

About 100 yards down the track there is a pull in area where you can park out of sight of the main road. From here as with Painterman61s log,i followed the track up to the shooting lodge & then the grassy quad track straight to the trig. Had to nip over the fence but no problems. Not much in the way of views as the cloud was rolling over the Bowland fells to the West whereas to the East,Ingleborough was still topped with cloud. 57 minutes car-trig-car.
