Parked at top of lane from the Royal oak in Rhandirmymn, just headed up hill until meet the track, beautiful day, great views.

Drove up past Royal Oak in Rhandirmymn and pulled in at the top of the road where there is parking for 3/4 cark right next to footpath up through woods to forestry track. From there walk continues right and up past Carn Wen and the two rectangular/walled enclosures. Track heads a little down, then take right around woods which takes you straight to trig which sits on little mound. Had put this off due to thought of no parking and poor tracks but as it turned out it was really straight forward. Cap/FB and spider all in place cap worn and all SH closed. Trig in great condition and extensive views.

2/3 from lay-by just south of Rhandirmwyn at SN 79233 42318. Excellent footpath up through fields past cairn and standing stone, into woods and across forestry tracks direct to trig. Trig sits an a high mound at top of hill. Excellent views over to the Beacons and Fans. Trig is in good condition with spider, plus and FB intact.

1/2 from Llanwrtyd Wells (09.45), crunching up forestry tracks clad with crisp snow, diverting to Mynydd Trawsnant (Dewey), now in 3-4m high new plantation (passing here last time, Nov 2017, the hill top was in tall mature plantation). Through plantation on Cefn Ystradffin where extensive tree felling in progress and across open high moorland following faint quad bike tracks through thick tussock grass. From pillar, plantations and high moorland of southern Cambrian mountains in every direction. Feels remote.

Route almost the same as Glaslyn, but I parked at the high point of the road between the two cattle grids in a small layby. Plenty of tussocky, boggy ground to cover to get to the trig with a distant glimpse of the Llyn Brianne dam at the halfway point. Fine view from the trig, including Black Mountain. This view will be lost soon as there is new forestry planting. Pillar in vgc with cap in place.

Parked at roadside at SN7758244319 and walked 200m SW along road to follow FP N across hillside. Then FP and forest roads NE to TP. Much of the forested area on approach has been felled. TP is on a large mound tucked in close to remaining forestry to NE and E of it - in good condition with fine views S to the Black Mountain. Followed forest roads SE of approach to return to start.

Parked due N at the high point near cattle grid. Cross open field then hug wood for half a mile to avoid gulies. Once you reach high ground take direct route SW following intermittent Quad tracks. Pillar in clearing at edge of woodland. Nice location lovely Feb sunshine for company.
