Can see trig from road no need to disturb human, cattle or dog or even get out of the van. Whole hedge has had a good trim so visible.

Stopped to eat our packed lunch at the Severn Bridge viewing area whilst driving on family holiday from Monmouth to Legoland. Had a cheeky check of the map and realised there was a trig just up the road. Hopped the gate to bag whilst the family stayed in the car. No sign of a bull, friendly neighbour or yappy dogs. Itchy.

Parked outside no. 28, walked up the drive to beside the trig, the neighbour came out to let me know it’s exact location through the hedge, and said the farmer wouldn’t mind if I jumped the gate to take a look (ignoring the “Danger Bull, Keep Out” sign). Very muddy field with cows happily feeding. Great views of both Seven Bridges from here.

Walked up the lane with my decoy dog and set the house dogs off barking. The nice owner came out and told me where to go - in a nice way. Wen't back to the gate, tethered my dog as there were heffers in the field and went over to the trig.

The gateway was a complete quagmire after the torrential rain. At this time of year the FB is just about legible through the hedge.

Bagged on the way through to a day of HuMP and trig bagging in South Wales. Located on the field side of a hedgerow, access a bit awkward - either over the gate before the trig (extremely muddy), or over the hedge opposite the house (easier but tricky). I chose the latter. Trig is hard against the hedge with the flush bracket facing into the hedge, managed to get a good shot of it by trial and error. Concrete plug. No discernable damage to the pillar or metalwork. N sight hole open, E&W both closed (managed to stamp down the undergrowth etc to see them), S is below soil level and unable to access. Good views to the second Severn crossing.

Someone's recently done some gardening as this was mostly clear of the surrounding hedge. Asphalt plug, N s/hole open but others buried, otherwise vgc. V limited views from the trig itself but good view of the Second Severn Crossing from the end of the lane.

located next to hedge on drive to farm, accessed from gate to the west, beware of the cows - a quick (if muddy) walk to pillar, followed by a very fast run back to the gate as there was a stampede heading my way, what a chicken i am. - pillar good condition, no views to due to paniced running.

The pillar stands amongst nettles next to the hedge of a field grazed by cattle; it has an asphalt plug and FB S//3281 facing towards the hedge. Wooded hills can be seen to the north and from the lane on the other side of the fence there is a view over the Severn Estuary and bridge.

Passed by here on the way to "Black Rock" geocache. Easy access through gateway. Lots of under growth round trig but flattened it a bit to take a picture. Left taking a picture of the flush bracket as it was round the back and there were a few too many brambles.

I'm writing this in Aug 2018 having just dug out some old maps and found notes on a few trigs I did 20+ years ago before I even realised this site existed! My map notes say, "Drove up after visit to Caldicott Castle. House with superb floral display opposite jctn. Trig buried in hedgerow. Good views of new bridge."
