From car park at Pitch Hill, path to south east is steep and well marked. Popular with cyclists. At top there is a double take with a fake money donation pillar very near the actual trig point. The true pillar is well maintained and gleaming white which is lovely to see and worth extra points. Fantastic views to south, although suggest carry on to the view point about fifty metres further east for a notice board and stunning uninterrupted views 180 degrees to east, south and west.

Looking out over the South Downs from Coneyhurst Hill on a clear morning is as fine a way to start the day as any I know. This pillar started off a very productive day's trigbagging in great style - as well as the view, the location itself is a very beautiful bit of woodland; the pillar is in excellent condition; and there's one of those trig-shaped donation boxes in the vicinity as well (I've seen others at Box Hill and Hindhead - I wonder if there's any more...) Parking is easy, and footpath leads directly to the pillar (although it was a little muddy today and is, of course, uphill, but these things go with the territory, right?) It's even been freshly painted, too. Really, what more could you ask of a trig?
