On a walk from the Elan Valley visitor centre. Walked around Caban Coch and Garreg Ddu Reservoirs then up onto mountain for trig. Excellent paths all the way. Trig sits majestically on a mound with fantastic views in all directions. Top of pillar is damaged with one corner missing. Apart from that good condition with spider and FB intact.

Easy walk out from Waterfall on good paths great views here today trig in vgc no plug, had go a longer way round on return to avoid beef cattle again.

Glorious weather - and well worth visiting this TP on such a day. Clear views to the south of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons, and to the north clearly visible the peaks of Snowdonia.

As it was a nice day I thought I would spend it at the elan valley near one of the dams I saw a trig but they are not Os ones they were for the construction of the dams , it reminded me about this one . I have been here years ago but didn't have the co-ordinates with me not that you would lose me , walked over from the waterfalls by the mountain  road . The trig is weathering well and there were red kites and skylarks overhead , enjoyed this.

Imposing location on a rocky outcrop overlooking open Moor and with views all around. Clear views of the cairns on Drygan where I am heading tomorrow. 4 mile round trip walk up from the Penygarreg Res Dam car park. Pillar in fair condition in line with its exposed location!

Misty views but enjoyed the walk up from Pen y Garreg car park and looped around to the top of Craig Goch and down the side of Pen y Garreg for a nice 8 miler

Last check point on "Reservoir Roundabout" 20 mile challenge walk, from Elan Valley visitor center. For once it was a dry day and even though largely cloud covered, the horizon was clear and sharp in all directions, hence good views into Elan valleys and the Elenydd.

Just under 2 mile out and back from road north, good views from summit stretching from Snowdonia to the Brecon Beacons, hot and sunny, earlier that day re-bagged Plynlimon trig and bagged Pen.Y.Garn (Bryn Garw), later that day bagged Suckley FBM on way home.

At mountain high point on grass at edge of slate rockband. Rather overcast but not bad views even so. Slight damage to top corner otherwise good condition still with some white paint on the N side.

On a round of a few hills, this the last one, then back to the road. Nice reddish tinged pillar with a little screed missing from one top corner, otherwise very good. Cap missing, no plug; rear sight hole open. 360deg panorama.

elan valley weekend picked up three trig points this visit weather not to good had a coffee stop then it started to rane it lasted for two hours strong winds to it got better later on

Easy to locate and access , especially with GPS. Climbed up on a really nice day when the views were spectacular and it felt really peaceful. Highest trig so far, different number. Visited while supporting walkers doing the Wye Valley.

Esgair Pen y Garreg. Above the Cwm Elan waterworks. Visited on a round with Clap Round, the marilyn on the other sde of the valley. Typical rolling Cwmdeuddwr country. Locals rounding up sheep on horseback.
