Good views in all directions. Returned back down the track and just before reaching the car saw a Red Squirrel. Really glad I not only had my good camera with me but I'd brought the telephoto lens along too - result!

Revisit. For photographs and GPS reading. Eglingham Moor. Approached from Southeast. Parked on east verge of road at NU110208, just outside gate to access land. Through gate follow track ~200m to high point then left via open pasture to top. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces WSW ~239. Vented through NE sight hole. 360 open outlook includes the Cheviot range. NOTE: Most recent maps show the mile long approach road from Eglingham village as uncoloured. This reflects the present state of the surface. Previous maps up to at least until 2009 indicate this as a yellow (unclassified metalled) road.
