Parked in the church car park to SE. footpath through churchyard heading west along south side of little trig hill field, with couple of horses in it. Helpful gent, pruning some bramble in his small patch of ground between footpath and fields beyond at what looked like the only way access point so I asked permission if I could cross the few metres to access the pillar, which he granted.

Chained my bike up at All Saints' Church gate and made my way through the graveyard as per SotonNick80's directions below. At the end of the graveyard path you'll see the pillar on a small hill off to your right. Then it's over a just-low-enough barbed wire fence and under two electric fences to get into a horses' field. Decent views over The Solent to Southampton.

Parked at the church and followed the path through the graveyard. You can see the trig up to the right from here. As you come to a house, there is a fence on the right low enough to climb over. You are able to walk up the hill from here to the trig where there are views to the east of Southampton across the water. On my visit, there were some friendly horses in the field.

Parking at the church car park, then along the footpath for what looked a simple stroll to the pillar, not so! The footpath from the car park from the E, seems to peter out, so I walked out to the road and found the other end of the footpath, this takes you up to base of the hill where you can hop over (or under) the two fences. Pillar good condition views to the port of Southampton. I then tried to get back to church from the other end, the footpath is terminated, with a large metal fence, looks to me as if houses are going to built here, will the pillar survive?
