Path through copse from Gibbet Lane. Trig was easily found at this time of the year. Nice sunny, but cold, afternoon.

Parked up at the gateway for the reservoir on Gibbet Lane and walked back towards the main road. Entered the wooded area just after the crop field finished and followed the faint path running more of less parallel with the field edge until the pillar came into view just past some fallen trees. Nothing much to see, so back to the car and off to bag the relatively nearby County Top.

In a small wood just off the main road, lots of nettles, prickley bushes etc. Very overgrown although not near the trig itself. Doesn't look like anyone has been there for a bit!

Took some finding, further into woodland than my OS map suggested, expected it to be in hedge boundary to field.Lots of brambles to trip us up. Ivy growing up pillar but in good condition. No views.

Located 100m off Gibbet Lane, follow the Marlpit Plantation boundary, trig is just into the woods. Pitch dark when we reached Sheringham, thought there was time for one more trig today. Parked on the roadside. Had a little trouble finding it in the dark but the GPS led me to it ok. Pillar looked in good condition but clearly no views from here - even in daylight.

Well hidden in the woods, but we eventually found it. The trees and hedge appeared to be fairly old, so what the views were like in 1950, we can only wonder. . .

Park on short access road to reservoir. Best access is at corner of wood then walk along field edge for 120 paces. Trig point is just inside wood.

Took the same route as Philrichards. You can park on the west side of Gibbet Lane in the entrance to a reservoir not shown on our map. Tarmac plug.

This one is 10m. inside the S edge of a small wood, so you can't see much from here! It has the original plug with slightly indented letters. N sighthole open [but covered in ivy], the others closed. Much paint on N/E faces. There are a few glimpses of views S only.
