I couldn’t find the block. Reported by others as destroyed but maybe just buried under the new banking?
TP0312 Approximate position where the block is/was located.

Farmer explained the area was reprofiled about a month ago: bank dug out, area lowered and topsoil added. Footpath sign has been moved across lane and is now next to FBM enclosure. I'd been searching a while with no trace found so have no reason to disbelieve him. Another one missed by weeks :-(

Easy find thanks to Jon Glew leaving the block exposed

Had OS sketch with me, but in the event paced out 10m from footpath sign, prodded the earth and hey presto - a surface block appeared! Well, almost, it needed digging out but I think the hard work had been done by previous loggers.

Difficult to find amongst the grass

Thought I would struggle with this one when I saw the length of the grass - but a crude 10 paces from the sign post did the trick. Farm land views - quiet area - lots of Red kites around - great to see.

Had a quick look for this one as I happened to be passing by. Found it easily this time - it was exposed.

Success this time (surprisingly quite quickly), having previously failed. Partly buried, had to remove some leaves/earth. Revisited 2/9/06 to photograph. Had to clear it again (dry wind-blown soil collects in the depression).
Re-visited 2/9/06 and photographed

There I was prodding away when the local farmer stopped an pointed it out! He advises this one is in regular use. It's exactly as the diagramme has it.
