Second of the day after Cefn Llechid. Parked in Defynnog and walked to trig on PROW. Another location with amazing views of the Beacons and Fans in all directions. Trig slightly damaged on top. Spider, plug and FB intact.

A circular walk, anticlockwise, from Defynnog and a tribute to the surviving competitors in the Dragons Back race from Conway to Cardiff, now into their fifth day, some of whom we had just been watching as they scaled the very steep west flank of Fan Gyhirych. Called to see them again at their check point at Storrey Arms on our return journey, the burger van was doing roaring trade! I'd be well sick of isotonic drinks and veggie food after five days of it too.

Parked to the west of the T-junction where there is space not to be in the way as the road is narrow and and then walked back to the "Cycle the BB post" at the T junction. Straight up the field to gate at the top left and then just follow the track right which leads you straight to the trig. Trig top has a lot of weathering and spider is exposed hence the slightly damaged, otherwise good. Spider in place and flush bracket. Another one with great 360 views. 3rd for the day!

Parked in lay-by Just down from Yew Tree pub and restaurant and you can see the path on the side of the mountain up to Trig. Walked up road and then through cow field upto to gate on to mountain path. Easy one and stunning views all around.

Trig sits atop the hill Fforest Fach North Top, Fforest Fach being some 3/4 mile due S. Pillar has suffered some damage to top surface with ends of 2 spider arms exposed. Original cap has been retained, lightly indented lettering; rear sight hole open. Nice clear 360deg panorama.

Parked on the verge outside the B&B at SN919284. Quite a steep ascent up the old lane. When it petered out I hacked through the bracken to the trig. Very misty today, spoiling the view.

I'm sure the scenery from here is fine but this visit was mistimed and it was almost pitch dark by the time we arrived at this location! This also made for a very interesting walk home along the sunken muddy track!

Walked on footpath from east then up to trig. Chipping round top of trig. Failed to find nearby Geocache but rescued a sheep wedged between rocks and on its last legs.

Good all round views from Trig, but this bit of moorland is not often visited and bracken would make the approach more difficult later in the year.

I'm hedging for a downgrade. a number of the corners are missing and the top half is fairly heavily pitted. The walk itslef is bog standard for the area with moderate views spoilt by summit level cloud. Walked up from the gate that looks on the map like a narrow "road" but is in fact an open sunken lane. V unnerving with the field full of inquisitive bullocks retured the other isde of the fence:-)

I'm writing this in Aug 2018 having just dug out some old maps and found notes on a few trigs I did 20+ years ago before I even realised this site existed! I was working in Sennybridge at the time and my map notes say, "Ran up from camp on a lovely sunny morning. Adequate path through bracken on N. slope. Fine vista incl Beacons & Black Mountains."
