re-visit. close to beacon. 6th pillar of day. Surrounded by young trees limiting any views out - better from car park down lane. Huge red hips and a few remaining flowers on nearby wild roses. a network of paths to explore for those wishing to do some walking

Hmm looks a bit grey over there, hmm Hanley seems to have disappeared, a minute later wind and hail beats us away from the car...came back when it had briefly clamed down after some oatcake consumption to grab the tump top. Used to look up here about 30 years ago - nice to come up for an explore at last...reminiscent of Cannock Chase

Bracken taking over this trig. It has a dirty coat of white paint applied also to all the metalwork and has some damage to the top screed. Top cap missing, replaced with an asphalt plug; front and LHS sight holes open. No views.

The plate on the top of the is missing, hole filled in with[?]. Drain holes clear. There appeasrs to be bit of a sideways slip ,observed from the appearance of the surrounding ground. The whole pillar, plate and all has been painted white since the last recorded visit. Details will be updated when I arrive home in September. Good view of athe sunset over stoke on Trent, probably the best view!!!

Could be a good view, if all the buildings were not there. Slightly misty, if it had been a little thicker then the view of the Celestial City would have been improved. Perhaps the view improve with summer vegetation and sunshine.

My nearest trigpoint to home. Walked past this more time than I can count............................... Revisit 21/012/03 and 27/08/05 to photograph............. another revisit 21/05/07 to get the nearby cache, the bush that surrounded the trig has been removed.
