Easy wander up to trig from Corfe Castle. I thought the trig was on private land but it turns out it is actually on a path. We walked up to the featureless summit of the hill afterwards.

Turned north off road after heading west from Corfe Castle up track to campsite. Pulled bike over on verge by start of footpath. North along path, for about a hundred and fifty metres then west and climbing. Squeezed around edge of gate then uphill north along hedge line. As ground levelled out, through kissing gate to east and continued north, after about fifty metres pillar came into view on west side of field boundary partly hidden by vegetation on the approach. Good views to south and north across Poole Harbour, couldn’t quite see Corfe Castle from the hill. FB etched in similar way to many others around this area, sadly. Cap plugged. Herd of cows in next field watching me.

Another great trig on the Purbeck Ridge with wide views in all directions. Parked in the layby at the north of the castle and had the added bonus of a relatively simple stroll up to the trig and then down overlooking Corfe Castle

Just off right of way footpath up steep sided ridge. It's National Trust land and there's also a path running past the trig along the ridge top not marked on the 1:25k - this path is very steep at the Corfe Castle end of the ridge. Wonderful views.

So good to be back on the Isle Of Purbeck on such a glorious September day. The pillar is fine with an asphalt cap & all four sight holes open. Looking back towards the magnificent setting of Corfe Castle, I was gratified to see & hear the tell-tale signs of a chuffing, puffing steam engine as evidenced by the trailing plume of white smoke. (Swanage Railway.)

Seen many times before I started collecting trigs. Great location up on ridge near Corfe Castle. On rough grassland with very good views. Plug missing, hole asphalt filled. Vestiges of white paint.

"Only mad dogs and English men, go out in the midday sun". Craig and I climbed the sleep slope beside Corfe Castle in the middle of what was apparently the hottest day of the year so far. It was HOT! and I had forgotten to put on any sun cream! The trig was easy to get to in full view near the fence with Corfe castle still just about in view.

Biked in on bridleways from the western side with parking just after the sharp hairpin. Initial steep climb but then easy rolling slopes. Good all round views

Visited while completing the Triple Trig Point Teaser geocache. Phew! You saved the steepest climb for last in this series and it was hot this afternoon! More wonderful views and a few birds of prey about as I walked along the bridleway route to the trig point. Didn't see a soul in the half hour I took to climb up and back down - they were all on the footpaths. With these walks the last two days have been transformed from a long distance business visit into a mini holiday taking in many beautiful locations and lots of fresh air and exercise. Roll on the next trip!

To Studland for our annual bank holiday visit - arrived early so despite pouring rain, low cloud and a gale decided to pay a quick visit to this trig. No views so will have to go back on a clear day (ironically as we descended the hill to return via Church Knowle it stopped raining and the sun came out, turning into a beautiful evening).

I'm writing this in Aug 2018 having just dug out some old maps and found notes on a few trigs I did 20+ years ago before I even realised this site existed! Having visited friends in Poole, my map notes tell me that this was "another lovely sunny day with a cold SWesterly. Drove around from Poole via the Sandbanks Ferry. Left the family to wander around the village then legged it up from the CP. Awesome, stupendous views of Poole, Bournemouth & Dorset beyond, and to The Needles.
