Drove up a narrow lane and found a convenient pull in by a gate. Walked across a fallow field. Trig has a very exposed base. No views to speak of.

Parked by the church at Toller Whelme as couldn’t really find anywhere safe to pull our X3 off the road. Lovely little walk up the footpath past West farm. Trig is in field opposite Pitsford farm- there is a small gateway here if you want to just run up to the trig. Good views around on another warm and sunny day

East and north of Beaminster on B3163, turned north west onto lane at Dirty Gate (as shown on my OS map, sheet 177 seventh series). Pillar visible in field to north. Pulled over on verge near a farm gate on west side of lane. Across stubble field. About eighteen inches of base exposed. Etched FB, sadly, common around here. Cap missing. Farmland views. Saw a herd of deer, which ran off. Good views to west towards Beaminster from lane.

In middle of field on raised concrete plinth. Fence/ hedge adjacent to nearby minor road patchy/ broken so easy access into field. Exposed on way over to trig in clear view of minor road which seemed to have quite a bit of farm traffic.

Parked by junction with farm track to the NW. Entered stubble field through wide open gate and walked direct to the pillar. Big sky and long views. The exposed base shows some serious soil erosion.

Parked on grass verge. Stepped over low fence and walked over to trig .Tractor in field didn't take any notice of us.

Could not access this trig in April last year as field was waist-high in crops. But this year pillar was easily seen from the lane to the west, as the field just has stubble in it. Access via a gap in the fence from the lane. Cap is missing exposing the hole down through the centre of the pillar. Base exposed and is now 18" above the surrounding soil level. 3 sight holes open.

In the middle of an arable field. This had been newly sewn with shoots just appearing, we couldn't bring ourselves to go against the 'code' so we just took a photo from the road.

This one is set on a very eroded concrete plinth but otherwise, is in good condition. Trespassy and saw the farmer on the way back to the car but he either hadn't seen us or didn't mind us visiting. Views nothing to write home about. Missing plug.

Easy access from the litle yellow road which is on the Wessex Ridgeway path. Good view of the transmitting station at Rampisham Down. Base quite eroded, plug missing.
