Parked on the road to the east of the pillar. Took the public right of way (PRoW) from there. At SO 56015 93920, left the PRoW and walked along the hedge line between the field and Mogg Forest up to the pillar, which can be found in front of the hedge. The flush bracket is on the hedge side. Replaced the Larden Grange pillar.

A rather misty miserable morning passes to a scowly afternoon, beautiful place though - from Widderhope Manor to Easthope a loop back on to the ridge (walked on field edge instead of a wade in the woods) then back via Shropshire Way. As well as the grey coming from Wales feature of the holiday are the beautiful old oaks (fine one in Easthope church grounds with a little bench).

Pleasant walk up from a stunning YHA - Elizabethan Grade I listed NT property, not the warmest hostel we've been in but at £22 for a private room for the night def not complaining. Pillar, replacement for Larden Grange, in good condition; FB facing into wire fence - fair bit of thorn and other vegetation needed clearing to access it. Original cap in place, indented lettering; 1 sight hole open; vestiges of white paint job evident. Almost 360deg views, slightly restricted NE by Moggforest.
