Parked by gate on bend in road, up the road to double metal gate and pillar sits just there. Pillar in good nick, OS cap in place, no sight holes open. Decent views as well.

I'd read the reports below about Leehouses so came prepared with loppers and gauntlets and gave the hawthorn covering the pillar the sort of trim my Turkish barber would have been proud of. Good views SE to Lammer Law.

Roadside verge parking ~20m SE. Pillar sits on field side of hedgerow - could do with some pruning - with a handy field gate nearby for access. Original centre cap retained, lightly indented lettering; sight holes not checked.

Parked at the end of the field where the road is a bit wider and walked back to the gateway. It will be swallowed by the hedge soon.

Roadside pillar in hedge, but accessible - could only see one side face by looking through hedge. Good views of N.Berwick Law, Bass Rock, Traprain Law also E & W Lomonds.

This was another fairly easy Trig in the bag! We parked on the bend of the road and climbed over the gate into the farm. Crops were growing high in the field so we walked along the hedging to avoid ruining them. Not long before we came across the Trig, snuggled tight into the hedge - where another gate was right there next to it, so we could have climbed this one instead which would have made it a bit easier to get to! The Trig was engulfed by the hedge and nettles. We had to sweep some of these away in order to see the Face Plate. Couldn't help but feel sorry that this Trig was sat there hiding away by the surrounding shrubs etc. Still, we were happy to find another Trigpoint! Albeit another easy one in the bag! Beautiful day for it and followed by a wee trip into Haddington for lunch! Views were beautiful over East Lothian where we could see the Hopetoun Monument and Bass Rock in the distance. Gutted I didn't take my DSLR Camera with me because the mobile pics here don't do the view justice. Would recommend this Trig if you want an easy bag!

East Lothian. It was a pleasant spring morning with hazy sunshine and good views. Easy to find, close to the gate off the road. Plug with shallow indented lettering.

Nice quiet spot for a trig (and trig visit). Lovely sunny spring day with no breeze - it felt great to be out with only one coat on for a change! Nice views, but a bit hazy. Skylark overhead.

Thought it was the other gate.......the other side of which was an enormous silage heap! Wasn't digging in there to find it! Then I looked over the other side and hey presto!

Easy find, in the hedge by a gate. Good condition and intact. Cold and wet with fast disappearing views over East Lothian and the Lammermuirs' Southern Upland Scarp.

Leehouses is just over 3 miles SW of the East Lothian village of Gifford. This roadside trig is behind the hedge on the NE side of the road on the edge of an arable field.Access very easy, just hop over the gate and there it is, lurking in the hedge. Views to West Lomond, East Lomond, Largo Law, Skid Hill, North Berwick Law, Bass Rock, Traprain Law, Lammer Law. The pillar, built c1943, is still in very good condition. Spider retains its original OSTS cap with shallow engraved font. FB faces NE. Weather hot and sunny.

Not the most interesting pillar; it is situated just over a hedge from apublic road, with a nearby gate allowing you to access the field.
