From East Hill, follow ridge road, cycle path no 2. At junction with main A259, cross straight over and aim for radio masts. The is a view point with a location plate, just beyond is the trig pillar nestled in the bracken which had recently been trimmed back to make access easy. Good views although slightly limited by nearby hedges. Just seen this was last visited by someone less than 24 hours ago!

The location has the potential for great views but the growth of shrubbery and thickets limited them today. Which was a shame as I got the sense that the views would have been great.

Walked up from Hastings Old Town on a grey overcast day. East to spot next to parking area. Wasn't too overgrown though the gorse was pretty spiky!

Summer time is not the best time to visit this one. Took me about 30 mins to cut my way to it and another 20 mins cleaning up the blood from the cut and scratches. If you go now the way is a bit clearer.

A very difficult pillar to get to thanks to Gorse and brambles. Eventually got to it and pillar in good condition. No views from the pillar but stunning vistas from the nearby toposcope.

Climbed up to the summit toposcope via Beacon Road and then eventually found the Trigpoint deep in brambles and gorse with a little help from Google Maps. No views as very foggy.

walked up from road up track to small car where there is a topograph to your left, if you carry on round the track the pillar is in the bushes to your left bit overgrown but reachable even with shorts on

The first trig of day 4 of 6, on our SE England hill & trig bagging tour. Good car park on the minor road just off the A259 400m SW of the trig (beware of the height bar - we scrapped our roof box, a little). Short walk on public paths to the pillar which is hidden away, almost as if it's an embarassment! Prominent centre stage is a direction finder - little interest to us when a trig is in the area. Pillar is in good condition, and views are above average.

Trig point on rough ground. Walked from Hastings to Three Oaks via 1066 Country Walk. Had hoped to catch a train back from Three Oaks but due to engineering works none were running. (I wasn't informed of this at Hastings Station beforehand).Luckily I timed it well for the bus from Guestling Green. Thank you 'Stagecoach' for saving the day.

The one thing that spoils some nice walks , especially if they are within 10 mins of residential areas is the interuption of dog walkers who feel the need to release their ill disciplined muts from the leash and spending the next 20 mins yelling at them and spoiling everybody's enjoyment of the countryside. Anyway rant over the Trig is located high up near a viewpoint of the coast and downs and is a pleasant enough location. Trig is in good nick with FB intact and Spider with blank centre cap. The O/S website denotes elevation at 175.72 metres (576.51 feet) and the computing year as 1938.

Located in Country Park and close to viewpoint indicator. Wonderful views all round. There is a road within a few metres of pillar. On returning to car I was greeted by a farmer who 'turned the air blue' -- not directed at me, but at the previous day's foul weather !!

I used to use this site in the late 1960's for amateur radio activities. This was my first visit for about 35 years, and it has changed a fair bit. The pillar is easily accessible and there are good views to be had.

Very easy access, right beside a parking area! Good views but not 360 as lots of tree growth. Ob. been painted white at somepoint, now just a mottled effect.

Very easy access in the middle of a local beauty spot: you can get within a few metres by 2wd vehicle. The pillar itself is in excellent condition. Even has some white paint left on it, though maybe that's not original as it's now used as a passive station. Great views all round.
