From the road to the north east, following the field boundaries is easy enough... except the pillar is on the other side of the hedge, so a drainage ditch needs to be negotiated to reach it. Good condition, reasonable view.

West along footpath from corner of road, grassy field at first then along south side of allotments. Continued west along field boundary where path signed to north. At next field headed south, along field boundary, wanted to cut across to south west but ploughed field would have made for awkward going. At south edge of field turned west. No sign of pillar on approach, no obvious high point. About to check on here for help but crossed through dry ditch to south and then west to discover pillar at corner of hedge. A little bit of tidying up to move brambles away and grass around FB. Views to south and west. Cap missing. (Not sure sentinel has used the correct photograph, landscape looks very different. Looks like Rectory Farm)

Parked at roadside near Brickbarns. Walked south on footpath then west following the long hedge line directly towards the trigpoint. This is a well used dog walkers path.

Walked here from Brickbarns along a very popular set of dog walking routes and a very community spirited land owner that must allow it to happen. Walking routes everywhere. Cap missing. All field boundaries appear to be permissive paths on both sides.

Carried on to here after bagging TP1621, not seen two trigs this close together before. Easy walking along field-edge paths. Pillar is in corner hedgerow of (this year) a wheat field, easily accessible even at the height of Summer.

continued on the FP from Brickbarns then walked the headlands of the fields dont get too close to the road else you have lots of ditches. Best route found on way back is to keep on the diagonal across the first field and then use the headlands. Definitely good the structure is intact only the plug is missing

Had to do some field perimeter walking to avoid damage to the farmer's crops and eventually found my prize on top of a hill hiding in the hedgerow. Other than the top plug being missing the condition of everything else was reasonable and in accordance with previous logs. Some decent views across the countryside towards Chelmsford are afforded from this Trig.
